Job summary

South Texas College seeks a Librarian II - Campus Librarian to assist the Librarian III in overseeing campus library operations and services, ensuring exceptional and efficient library support in line with district procedures. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• At least two (2) years of reference and/or library instruction experience.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Recent academic library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Librarian IIIs to support system-wide library initiatives.
• Assist in overseeing campus library operations including facilities, staffing, and circulation.
• Ensure compliance with district procedures for operations of circulation, reference, instruction, outreach, and collection management.
• Prepare monthly and weekly data reports and ensure data collection procedures are followed.
• Serve as liaison to campus administrator and faculty to promote library services.
• Inventory print collections and assets at the campus library.
• Provide library instruction following ACRL guidelines for academic libraries.
• Serve as library liaison to assigned academic departments.
• Participate in collection development activities.
• Create and maintain subject guides and electronic resources.
• Assist patrons with online resources and online collections/services.
