Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Journeyman/Plumber to perform and oversee plumbing work in the facilities department. The role covers drainage, water distribution, domestic systems, steam and lab drains, with emphasis on preventive and unscheduled maintenance.

The position requires a MI Journeyman Plumber license; Master license is preferred. Competitive compensation around $31.16 per hour, full-time benefits, and 40 hours weekly. Posting open until filled and review after Sept 30.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• MI Journeyman Plumber license required; Master license preferred.
• Two years journeyman plumbing experience preferred; commitment to Master license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work between plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry teams and vendors.
• Plan and layout plumbing work using blueprints, schematics, schedules.
• Respond to routine and emergency repair calls and maintain systems.
• Maintain drainage, water distribution, steam and lab drains; perform inspections.
• Complete work orders and document completion per regulations.
