Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College seeks a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join the facilities team in Michigan. The role delivers in-house electrical work, daily maintenance, project tasks, and support for events under the direction of the Associate Director Facilities Management.

Duties include reading blueprints, coordinating across maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and outside vendors; repairing motors, generators, and electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with NEC, MIOSHA/OSHA, and local

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrician required.
• Experience with medium voltage systems.
• Ability to travel between GRCC campuses.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and layout electrical work using plans and specs.
• Coordinate work between maintenance, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and contractors.
• Repair motors, generators and controllers ranging from fractional HP to 500 HP.
• Ensure NEC compliance and maintain documentation for electrical systems.
• Travel across GRCC campuses as needed.
