Job summary

University of Michigan-Dearborn is hiring a Service Center Support Specialist Associate to assist campus IT operations. You will support customers at all levels with hardware, software, networking, storage and security needs, and participate in tier 1 and 2 production support on the Dearborn campus.

This two-year term-limited role reports to the Service Center Support Supervisor and emphasizes customer service, collaboration, and proactive issue resolution in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
• 1+ year experience in a role requiring confidentiality, timely customer service and independent work to install, configure, and support Windows and/or Mac desktops and software.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11, macOS, Office 365, browsers, scripting, and ticket systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 & 2 technical support via phone, chat, and in-person interactions.
• Monitor systems and manage Service Desk tickets to keep customers informed on progress.
• Lead AV training and create/write documentation for AV projects and events.
• Coordinate incident resolution and collaborate with teams to meet SLAs.
• Develop and improve systems, and train new Service Desk staff.
