Job summary

University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a Service Center Support Specialist Associate to join the ITS Operations team, providing tier one and two production support for hardware, software, networking, storage, and security in a complex computing environment.

The role focuses on customer service excellence, incident resolution, and collaboration with IT staff to maintain service levels and improve systems across campus. This is a two-year term-limited appointment with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
• Minimum of one year experience in a role requiring confidentiality, timeliness, customer service, organization, prioritization, troubleshooting, and working independently to install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and/or Mac desktop operating systems and layered software.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11, macOS, Office 365, browsers, scripting, and ticket systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 support via phone, chat, and in-person for daily campus technology operations.
• Monitor systems and tickets, update stakeholders on progress and maintain ticket queues.
• Lead AV training and create comprehensive guides; support AV projects and events.
