Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a part-time Student Computer Operator (Work Study) to support the SYSTECH team in the College of Nursing building. You will assist faculty and staff with computer and AV technology, via ticketing and Zoom rooms, under IT Manager supervision.

This is a non-benefitted student role; availability up to 20 hours/week with additional summer hours for eligible students. Prior URS or work-study funds are considered in selection.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide help desk style support via Zoom.
• Experience assisting users with specialized software and AV equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Mac OS environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides help desk style support via Zoom.
• Provides customer service and assists users with specialized software.
• Creates reports, documents and how-to articles.
• Notifies appropriate technical groups of errors or equipment malfunctions requiring advanced troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support for faculty and staff.
• Monitor and troubleshoot classroom and AV technology.
• Process IT inventory.
• Deploy and setup IT equipment.
• Other projects as assigned.
