Job summary

Michigan State University Information Technology Services is seeking an Executive Director of Campus IT Experience to lead campus partner–facing IT services and deliver reliable, innovative technology experiences that support teaching, research and outreach.

The role oversees multiple enterprise teams, shapes service strategy, and partners with the CIO and university leaders to evolve service delivery, governance, and workforce development across campus IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible leadership in enterprise technology services.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and large initiatives.
• Collaborating with senior leaders to improve campus front‑line services.
• Ability to align service delivery with institutional priorities and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance for enterprise campus partner–facing IT services.
• Develop and execute long‑range service strategies aligned with MSU/ITS goals.
• Lead a new IT Resource Center strategy with cross‑team collaboration.
• Represent the service catalog in IT governance and advocate for customer needs.
• Develop monitoring to ensure SLAs are met across offerings.
• Co‑executive owner of the IT Service Catalog with the Assistant CIO.
• Mentor managers to ensure resourcing and delivery of high‑quality services.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.
• Act as trusted advisor to CIO, leaders, and stakeholders.
• Build campus relationships to define service needs and future delivery models.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship and oversee departmental budgets and initiatives.
• Lead organizational change in service delivery and workforce development.
