Job summary

Michigan State University Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks an Executive Director of Campus IT Experience to provide strategic leadership for campus partner–facing IT services, ensuring reliable, innovative technology experiences that support teaching, research, and outreach.

The role leads multiple enterprise teams, shapes service strategy, and collaborates with the CIO and university leadership to define future MSU IT service models while advancing campus experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of leadership experience in enterprise technology services.
• Experience leading multiple, large cross-functional teams or initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with senior leaders to improve campus front-line user services.
• Ability to align service delivery with institutional priorities and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance for enterprise campus partner–facing IT services.
• Develop long-range service strategies aligned with MSU and ITS goals.
• Lead the MSU IT Service Catalog and campus-facing IT Resource Center initiatives.
• Serve as a representative on IT Governance to advocate for the service catalog.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship and drive continuous improvement across services.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences, business management, marketing, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

8+ years leadership experience in enterprise technology services

Experience leading large cross-functional teams

Collaboration with senior leaders to improve campus front-line services

Knowledge of service management and governance
