Job summary

Lewis & Clark College seeks an Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (IME) Assistant Director to support daily IME operations, mentor student leaders, and expand access and belonging for all students. The role partners with the IME Director to design programs, events, and initiatives that advance diversity and inclusion in higher education.

You will oversee program delivery, mentoring, and campus collaboration while using data to improve retention and engagement across campus communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• One year of experience in creating access, belonging, and engagement.
• One year of professional experience working with people who have experienced economic, social, or other barriers or those who come from economically or socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead IME programs with the IME Director, including programming such as the Great Expectations Mentorship (GEM) program, heritage and history Month programming, first-generation programming, and supporting our student-athletes.
• Develop and implement programming to create more access, belonging, and student engagement for all students.
• Design, plan, and implement major programs, events, and initiatives related to multiculturalism and diversity.
• Collaborate with campus partners to organize campus-wide events, including MLK Day, student leadership training, and heritage and history month programming.
• Support program assessment, using data to inform retention strategies for campus student populations.
• Mentor and advise student staff, GEM Mentors, and student organization leaders.
• Provide individualized support, advocacy, and referrals to campus resources that promote student persistence and belonging.
• Co-facilitate leadership training and programming to enhance student engagement across campus.
• Support the daily operations of the IME office space, including social media, website management, purchasing supplies, and managing email communications.
• Assist in managing office logistics and handle administrative duties for program execution.
