Job summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking an HVACR Technician to maintain campus HVACR systems and equipment, ensuring comfort and operational integrity for students, faculty, and staff. The role includes installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and adherence to policy requirements.

Responsibilities involve planning work orders, on-call readiness, and meeting certification standards, with opportunities to contribute to major system projects and campus reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years HVACR experience.
• Some college or Associate's Degree with 5 years HVACR experience.
• Valid Driver's License—Upon Hire.
• Universal Refrigerant Card—Upon Hire.
• NATE HVAC Support Technician Certification or approved equivalent—Upon Hire.
• Substitution allowed: 2 years of experience per year of education.

Responsibilities

• Performs installation, replacement, or repairs to HVACR equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, humidifiers, boilers, burners, and related components.
• Assists in planning, scheduling, and executing major HVACR system repair projects.
• Inspects and troubleshoots HVACR systems for operating status and material condition, identifying repairs and recommended actions.
• Oversees and plans assigned work orders using AIM system to prioritize and schedule work to meet Auburn University Customers.
• May be required to serve in an on-call status and respond within the required timeframe.
• Maintain training and certification requirements as outlined by policy.
