Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an HVAC PM Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on campus. The role involves monitoring building automation and controls, reading plans, and supporting daily operations to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for the UAB community.

Ideal candidates will have HVAC technical training and several years of related experience, with EPA Section 608 certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains computerized energy management and control systems for HVAC equipment and boilers.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, and related components.
• Reads blueprints, drawings, schedules and specifications to support maintenance tasks.
