Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a skilled HVAC technician to maintain, repair, and install a wide range of HVAC/R equipment across our facilities. This full-time AM-shift role emphasizes preventive maintenance and rapid response to building needs.

You will read blueprints and schedules, perform inspections, and coordinate with other trades to keep critical systems running. Eligibility requires a technical HVAC credential and EPA Section 608 certification, plus a Alabama driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
• Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the USEPA required.
• Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, modify, replace, install, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Read, interpret blueprints, drawings, schedules and specifications related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and related systems.
• Respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests from building occupants.
