Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pneumatic controls, DDC controls and ladder diagrams.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions in building mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of and skill in the use of various types of small power hand tools.
• Knowledge of operation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment.
• Equivalent experience or Baccalaureate degree related to mechanical/structural trades.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech with diverse constituencies.
• Computer literacy and ability to read architectural plans and specifications.
• HVAC Certification in North Carolina is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains heating, ventilating, air conditioning and electrical systems on campus.
• Inspects and performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, adjustment, repair and replacement of energy systems.
• Maintains equipment records for scheduling maintenance and parts usage.
• Monitors system performance and addresses malfunctions and repair needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Assists maintenance staff on specific jobs to support training; ensures safety compliance.
• Develops and updates building preventive maintenance schedules.
