Job summary

Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI seeks a Facilities Building Operator to ensure efficient heating and cooling of campus buildings and to maintain related equipment such as air handling units, boilers, chillers, and pumps.

You will operate the building automation system, perform minor repairs, respond to service calls, and apply the Integrated Energy Master Plan. Shift available: Midnights, Monday–Friday 11 pm to 7 am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License is required.
• Boiler Operator license issued by Dearborn or equivalent.
• First Class Refrigeration Engineer license issued by Dearborn or equivalent.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate HVAC systems within the Integrated Energy Master Plan.
• Maintain mechanical systems and campus infrastructure knowledge.
• Perform minor repairs and seasonal preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Clean mechanical areas and maintain inventory of spare parts.
• Respond to service calls and complete CMMS work orders as assigned.
• Follow emergency procedures and ensure safety of building systems.
• Perform boiler and refrigeration water tests and adjust chemicals as directed.
• Undertake additional duties as trained or needed.

High Pressure Boiler Operator’s License (City of Dearborn) or equivalent

1st Class Refrigeration Engineer’s License (City of Dearborn) or equivalent
