Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking a Housing Safety and Compliance Coordinator to monitor hazardous conditions and develop safety measures for Housing & Residential Life. The role includes training Facilities staff, tracking attendance, and following up on inattendance while ensuring equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive services for campus life.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of State and Federal safety and environmental health laws and CSULB policies.
• Ability to manage hazardous materials and waste in compliance with regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration with a diverse campus community.

Responsibilities

• Policy creation and update of EHS procedures and safety programs to ensure compliance.
• Conduct inspections and safety reviews, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver training, coordinate emergency evacuation drills for Residence Hall communities.
