Move Language Ahead is hiring a Campus Housing Assistant for Ramapo College of New Jersey as part of the MLA Summer 2026 program. This seasonal, hourly role supports student arrivals, room readiness, and general housing operations.

The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and capable of performing practical campus duties alongside the Welfare Manager and MLA team to ensure welcoming, organized residential spaces for sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with room checks at the start of the program and during student arrivals.

• Supporting housing preparation during arrivals and breakdown periods.
• Reporting any accommodation concerns, maintenance issues, or student welfare concerns to the Welfare Manager.
• Helping the on-site team maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized residential environment.
• Supporting other campus-based student housing tasks as assigned.

Pay Rate: $16–$20 per hour, depending on experience

Room and Board: Available, but not required

Position Overview

MLA is looking for friendly, reliable, and hardworking Campus Housing Assistants to support our summer program at Ramapo College of New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy student environment and is happy to help with practical campus-based duties that support student arrivals, room readiness, and general housing operations. The Campus Housing Assistant will work closely with the Welfare Manager and the wider MLA team to help ensure that student and Group Leader accommodation areas are welcoming, organized, and ready for each session.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with room checks at the start of the program and during student arrivals
• Supporting with bed making for Group Leaders
• Helping with bathroom wipe-downs during the program
• Assisting with bathroom refreshes once per session, as needed
• Supporting housing preparation during arrivals and breakdown periods

Schedule

This is an hourly position with a schedule of up to 35 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on program needs, student arrivals, departures, and session changes. Bathroom support and refreshes will take place as needed, with larger session-based tasks expected to take several days due to the number of students on campus.

Supervision

The Campus Housing Activity Leader will be supervised on site by the Welfare Manager and will work as part of the wider MLA summer team.

Requirements

Applicants should be:

• Able to follow instructions carefully

• Able to work as part of a team in a busy summer school environment
• Flexible with working hours and tasks during peak arrival and departure periods

Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or residential experience is not required, although it may be helpful.

Supplies and Equipment

All necessary supplies and equipment will be provided by MLA.
