Job summary

Health Partners Plans is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors, and assets. You will patrol fixed posts or move across campus and hospital grounds, check IDs, escort unauthorized individuals, and respond to emergencies with professional conduct.

Under supervision by shift leaders, you will document incidents, support parking operations, assist trauma and safety teams, and ensure no-smoking compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and completion of Security Department training; ability to work all shifts; capable of running one city block and physically subduing an unruly individual; knowledge to operate MS Word and E-mail; Pennsylvania Lethal Weapons Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs security patrols at fixed posts or on patrol; verifies identification badges and escorts unauthorized persons off campus as needed.
• Responds to calls for service, including emergencies; notifies supervisors and may diffuse incidents using conflict resolution.
• Investigates and documents reports on accidents, incidents or suspicious activities; maintains daily patrol logs and submits them after tours.
• Provides assistance to employees, students, patients, visitors; conducts security escorts as required.
• Assists with campus parking issues; patrols parking lots and equipment.
• Supports safety teams, including trauma team support for helicopter landings and fire-related emergencies; enforces all No Smoking policies on campus.
• Performs related security duties including loss prevention support and training of new staff.
