Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect students, staff, patients, visitors and Jefferson assets at its Cherry Hill, NJ campus. You will patrol fixed posts or on rounds, check IDs, escort unauthorized persons, and respond to incidents in coordination with supervisors.

Full-time role requiring ability to work all shifts, withstand diverse weather, and maintain training. Lethal Weapons Certification in PA within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must understand responsibilities of 24-hour Security Response Center (SRC).
• Must complete security department training modules and maintain training.
• Must be able to run one city block and subdue an unruly/violent individual.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work all shifts and rotate between shifts.
• Lethal Weapons Certification - Pennsylvania State Police within 90 days.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree or related advanced training in Criminal Justice.
• 1 year experience in campus/hospital security or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with coworkers, visitors and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Performs security patrols at fixed posts or on patrol.
• Verifies identities and escorts unauthorized persons from campus as needed.
• Responds promptly to calls for service and emergencies.
• Notifies supervisor of conditions and provides follow-up information as directed.
• Assist with campus parking issues and safety teams during emergencies.
