Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver primary care to students within the campus community. The role includes diagnosing and treating a broad range of illnesses, counseling on health promotion, and referring complex cases to physicians as needed.

The position requires an RN license and a NC-approved NP program, with preferred 5+ years of experience. On-site with potential hybrid/remote arrangements, salary range provided by NC A&T.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the North Carolina Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners.
• Approved to practice medical acts by the Joint Subcommittee.
• At least five years of experience preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service focus, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lead an administrative support team in front-line campus service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary care to students, including diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.
• Provide counseling on health promotion and disease prevention.
• May supervise, teach and evaluate students and medical staff.
• Prescribe medications and order laboratory tests as appropriate and consult with physicians.
