Job summary

Seminole State College of Florida is seeking a Landscaper to maintain campus grounds, athletic fields, and landscaped areas. The role involves cutting, mowing, planting, pruning, debris removal, irrigation inspection, and assisting with event setup.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of landscaping experience. A Florida driver’s license is required or obtainable within 30 days of hire. The position is on campus in Sanford, Florida.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• One year of landscaping or groundskeeping experience.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Florida driver’s license within 30 days of employment, with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds by cutting, mowing, edging, and trimming grass, flower beds, and shrubberies.
• Plants and maintains vegetation, such as trees and shrubs.
• Clears debris, leaves, brush, and weeds from walkways, stairs, roads, ramps, and parking areas.
• Maintains groundskeeping manual tools and equipment, such as rakes, step ladders, pruning shears, hand edgers, loppers, and shovels.
• Operates power and motorized equipment, such as weed trimmers, chain saws, backpack blowers, and mowers.
• Inspects and completes minor repairs to irrigation system.
• Assists other departments with event set-up.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
