Seminole State College of Florida is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist to support campus operations. The role involves maintenance, inspection, and repair across buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure safe, cost-effective facilities management.

The position requires high school graduation, relevant maintenance experience, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, safety inspections, and collaboration with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Two years of experience as a general maintenance technician in an educational setting or similar environment.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuity of operations in the absence of department management.
• Assist in routine, periodic, and preventative maintenance of equipment including inspections, servicing, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Inspect, test, and repair ADA door openers and access control; maintain monthly inspection logs.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and maintain monthly inspection logs.
• Perform electrical work such as changing light bulbs, ballasts, LED conversions, and switches.
