Job summary

Westtown School seeks a full-time Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, athletic fields, and property. Work hours are 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with benefits including PTO, health/dental/vision, retirement contributions, tuition remission, disability coverage, and life insurance. The Groundskeeper will operate tractors and other equipment, manage landscaping, assist with athletic fields, and support other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in the care and maintenance of similar facilities or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• Knowledge of horticulture, plants, trees, and shrubs is desired.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass, prune and trim shrubs and small trees, and apply mulch utilizing appropriate equipment.
• Operate a tractor, loader, and other departmental vehicles.
• Weed and maintain flower beds and other landscaping.
• Plant trees/shrubs and annuals as directed.
• Assist in maintaining athletic fields and recreational play areas, including layout, lining, mowing, seeding, fertilizing, etc.
• Assist with the removal and disposal of trash and debris.
• Maintain campus driveways and parking lots.
• Plow, shovel, and remove snow when necessary.
• Provide support and manpower to other campus departments as necessary.
• Maintain professional and appropriate relations with all community members at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of school property and staff as required to perform assigned duties.
• Report unsafe conditions or suspicious activity as necessary.
• Remain committed to safe work practices and energy conservation at all times.
• Participate in departmental meetings/training as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
