Job summary

The University of Michigan Dearborn is seeking a temporary groundskeeper to perform campus upkeep, grounds maintenance, and snow removal. You will contribute to campus beautification and safety in assigned areas and operate a range of equipment, including mowers, tractors, plows, and salting gear.

Responsibilities include responding to winter weather events, maintaining equipment, and working as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Michigan driver's license in good standing required.
• Able to pass MDOT physical and maintain certification.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather and in a team.
• Flexibility to work after normal hours for snow removal or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general campus upkeep and grounds maintenance.
• Snow removal and weather cleanup during/after shifts.
• Operate equipment: mowers, tractors, snowplows, power tools.
• Ensure safety and proper operation of vehicles and equipment.
• Assist in beautification and cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Respond to emergencies and campus needs as required.
