Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking a Landscaper I to support campus grounds maintenance. The role involves mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, and weed control across assigned zones, using hand tools and equipment, and following IPM guidelines.

Qualifications include completion of 9th grade, 1+ years in landscape work, and the ability to operate equipment and communicate in English with campus customers. UCF offers a solid benefits package and a regular daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of landscape maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic plant identification and pruning techniques.
• Basic English communication skills to interact with customers and operate equipment.
• Ability to work with a team and follow IPM guidelines.
• Maintenance of equipment: cleaning, lubrication, and fluid-level checks.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim, prune, mulch, and weed landscape beds in assigned zones.
• Operate hand tools and landscaping equipment as needed.
• Identify and report pest or disease issues per IPM plan.
• Assist with campus upkeep: raking, trash collection, and related tasks.
• Haul fill dirt/debris and water trees/turf in non-irrigated areas as needed.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report repairs to supervisor.
