Job summary

University of Central Florida seeks a Landscaper II to support the Landscape Operations Projects team across the campus. You will coordinate and execute landscape installation tasks, assist with tree/shrub work, and help with hardscape repairs while ensuring safety and quality.

This role requires 3+ years of landscape experience and strong English communication. Office interactions, driving on campus, and collaboration with diverse teams are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of 9th grade and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• 3+ years landscape experience in a commercial or corporate environment.
• Ability to maintain landscapes to standards and use landscaping hand-held tools and equipment.
• Basic plant identification, pruning techniques, and general IPM knowledge.
• Leadership skills to lead and prioritize teams under supervision.
• Basic communication skills in English to work with customers and operate equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including email.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute landscape installation projects.
• Assist tree/shrub removal, planting, and ground cover tasks.
• Support hardscape projects: concrete work, paver repairs, pothole patching.
• Serve as grounds crew member for urban forestry.
• Assist in tree removals, pruning, stump grinding, and installations.
• Coordinate maintenance hand-offs and equipment operation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
