Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is hiring for a Lead Groundsworker to supervise grounds staff and oversee planting, irrigation, and landscape maintenance on a large campus.

Under the supervision of the Grounds Manager, you will plan schedules, train staff, and ensure work meets university standards. A valid California driver’s license and basic computer skills are required; a high school diploma-equivalent and two years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of experience in planting, cultivating, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, or in general grounds maintenance.
• Valid California driver's license required.
• Ability to plan, supervise, and train others; basic computer skills including email.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, assign and supervise routine maintenance functions; oversee planting sites and irrigation systems.
• Coordinate work with contractors/vendors and ensure campus standards are met.
