Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking an Irrigation Specialist to support the Supervising Groundsworker in maintaining common area and landscape irrigation systems on campus.

The role requires knowledge of irrigation components, troubleshooting, and installing new systems. A valid California driver’s license is required, and experience with Rainmaster central control is preferred. This is a 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week, temporary position in the FM Grounds department.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of landscape maintenance experience.
• One year of irrigation system maintenance experience preferred.
• CA Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, modifies, repairs and replaces damaged heads, risers, lines, and valves.
• Troubleshoot irrigation system wiring and irrigation controllers.
• Installs new irrigation systems.
• May occasionally supervise personnel assigned to assist in routine maintenance and installation activities.
• Accurately track labor, materials for work using the proper work order for tracking purposes.
• Construction project inspection, plan review, interfacing with contractors.
• Working knowledge of automated central irrigation system. Familiar with Rainmaster Central Irrigation System.
