Job summary
Indian River State College is seeking an experienced Grounds Supervisor to manage grounds and maintenance operations across college campuses in Florida. You will train staff, lead landscaping activities, and ensure safety and quality of outdoor facilities.
The role requires leadership in mowing, irrigation, and pesticide applications, plus strong record-keeping and vendor coordination. A related associate degree and a Florida driver’s license are preferred, with CORE/Ornamental certifications
Qualifications
- Associate degree (preferably in horticulture) with 5 years in lawn/grounds lead roles.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and CORE/Ornamental certifications.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and pesticide application per labels.
Responsibilities
- Train and lead grounds staff and approve time off.
- Oversee mowing, trimming, irrigation, and pesticide applications.
- Maintain equipment and inventory; order supplies.
- Design and install landscapes and coordinate vendor projects.
- Keep records of maintenance and ensure safety.
- Resolve daily issues and support campus facilities operations.
