Job summary

Augusta University seeks a Grounds Foreman to supervise and enhance the campus landscape and grounds. You will lead groundkeepers, assign tasks, and ensure safety protocols across all outdoor spaces on multiple campuses.

The role involves maintaining irrigation and seasonal color beds, coordinating equipment maintenance, and managing supplies. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential to support facilities services and campus events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; seven years of grounds maintenance experience.
• Preferred Associate’s degree with seven+ years of grounds supervision experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise grounds maintenance and beautification of the campus.Provide safety and technical training to grounds staff.Prune, mulch, plant, and maintain seasonal color beds; oversee irrigation systems.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment; ensure oil checks, cleaning, and safety compliance.
• Schedule work assignments and overtime for events; coordinate purchases and shop supplies.
• Attend meetings with customers and supervisors; ensure project scope and timelines.
• Oversee contracted services and manage compliance with facility standards.
• Complete annual appraisals and disciplinary procedures; maintain tree inventory and storm drains.
