Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Lead Grounds Keeper to lead a grounds crew responsible for beautifying and maintaining campus grounds on the Summerville Campus. The role includes supervising staff, managing waste, and ensuring safe operation of grounds equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of grounds maintenance experience, with preferred certifications in forklift and JLG lift operations.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a state or federal accredited organization and five years' experience in grounds maintenance.
• Strong safety training and PPE practices.
• Experience leading grounds crews and operating grounds equipment.

Responsibilities

• Leads Grounds Crews and assigns tasks to Grounds keepers.
• Maintains groundcovers, shrubs, trees, and turfgrass.
• Maintains grounds equipment and coordinates repairs.
• Operates vehicles, golf carts, mowers, and small tractors.
• Performs waste management and grounds cleaning.
• Cleans and organizes grounds warehouse.
• Participates in campus event setups as needed.
• Assists maintenance workers with related tasks.
