Job summary

Augusta University is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install, repair and maintain campus irrigation systems across our grounds. The role may involve leading grounds crews and coordinating tasks with maintenance staff to ensure timely irrigation coverage and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, recording as-built irrigation details, operating equipment, and maintaining grounds facilities to support a healthy landscape.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with a valid driver's license and 3 years irrigation installation/repair experience.
• Ability to read maps and irrigation plans; operate and repair irrigation systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead crews as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain campus irrigation.
• Leads Grounds Crews and assigns tasks to grounds keepers and maintenance workers.
• Maintain groundcovers, shrubs, trees, and turf grass.
• Maintains grounds equipment and coordinates maintenance with the grounds mechanic.
• Operates vehicles and light construction equipment; performs related duties.
• Waste management and campus project support, including event setups.
• Performs related work as required.
