The position requires a high school diploma and about two years of grounds maintenance experience, plus knowledge of caring for gardens, shrubs and trees. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years (24 months) of work experience in the maintenance of gardens, lawns, shrubs, or trees.
• Knowledge of the care of gardens, lawns, shrubs, and trees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beds; plant, water, cultivate, annual and perennial beds; clean off beds.
• Supervises and trains assistants as required.
• Tree and shrub pruning / trimming.
• Plant seeds, transplant, water, and fertilize annuals in greenhouse.
• Pick up litter.
• Remove ice and snow from sidewalks, steps, and ramps.
• Other duties as assigned.
