Job summary

St. Norbert College is seeking a Store Manager for Phil's Grill to oversee daily operations of Phil's Grill and the C-Store, lead student staff, and work with the Assistant Head Chef of Retail Operations to address staffing and operational needs.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, directing staff, and managing inventory, payroll, and financial duties while ensuring excellent service to the campus community.

Qualifications

• 35 years of progressive food service experience including food preparation and cash handling.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a food service environment.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong mentoring, training, and leadership skills with diverse staff.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Phil's Grill, including preparing menu items, serving customers, operating the POS system, stocking and rotating products, and following HACCP requirements.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and mentor student employees; manage biweekly payroll and schedules; develop training materials and opportunities.
• Support development of full-time supervisory staff in collaboration with the Assistant Head Chef of Retail Operations.
• Manage cash handling, POS programming, sales reporting, and use of operational software.
• Place weekly food and supply orders and manage inventory to meet budget and food cost goals.
• Develop and implement operational standards, policies, procedures, and training practices to support efficient operations.
• Collaborate with management, sales reps, and Retail Dining leadership on marketing initiatives and campus engagement.
• Monitor student feedback and industry trends to identify opportunities for new products and improvements to the C-Store.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
