Job summary

St. Norbert College seeks a Store Manager for Phil's Grill to lead daily operations, supervise student workers, and collaborate with the Assistant Head Chef of Retail Operations. You will manage staff, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and procurement to ensure service excellence on campus.

The role supports adherence to health standards, training development, and close coordination with dining leadership to implement marketing and product initiatives while maintaining budget goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field is a plus.
• 3–5 years of progressive food service experience including food prep and cash handling.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Phil's Grill, including preparing menu items, serving customers, operating the POS system, stocking and rotating products, and following HACCP requirements.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and mentor student employees; manage biweekly payroll and schedules; develop training materials.
• Support training and development of full-time supervisory staff in collaboration with Retail Operations leadership.
• Manage cash handling, POS programming, sales reporting, and use of operational software.
• Place weekly food and supply orders; manage inventory to meet budget and food cost goals.
