University of Arizona is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic in Phoenix to support campus facilities. The role involves repair, alteration and remodeling across buildings and spaces, working independently or with teams, including evenings/weekends to minimize noise and disruptions.

Responsibilities include assisting with carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and site maintenance while keeping records and ensuring safe, clean environments. 40-hour work week; non-exempt; open until filled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the Fleet Safety Policy.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and repair work on building items and equipment under supervision.
• Assists with patching, painting, heating/cooling, flooring, lighting, event setup, and material delivery; cleans work areas.
• Assists skilled trades employees with daily activities on assigned jobs.
• Maintains facility grounds and keeps spaces clean, safe, and orderly.
• Maintains records of repairs and equipment requiring future service.
• Maintains all classrooms, residential buildings, labs, libraries and public spaces in good condition.
