University of Arizona is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic in Phoenix to support campus facilities. The role involves repair, alteration and remodeling across buildings and spaces, working independently or with teams, including evenings/weekends to minimize noise and disruptions.
Responsibilities include assisting with carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and site maintenance while keeping records and ensuring safe, clean environments. 40-hour work week; non-exempt; open until filled.
The Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC) is a 30-acre, urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research, academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more than 6 million square-feet at build out. It is the only site where you will find all 3 of Arizona's public universities in one location conducting and collaborating in research. University Facility Services-Phoenix is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for learning, research and work through the highest quality facilities maintenance staff. This position's primary focus will be to provide the faculty, staff, students and visitors of the University with the best maintained and the safest buildings possible through staff dedication and teamwork.
Due to the nature of our educational environment, this position may occasionally work evenings and weekends to reduce noise or to support other facilities management activities during non-traditional business hours.
The position will perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and remodeling of buildings, offices and other campus facilities. Work is performed independently, in teams, or by assisting skilled trade positions. Assignments involve numerous trade areas, such as carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, drywall, concrete and other office needs.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
