Job summary

Arizona State University (ASU) seeks a Skilled Crafts and Trade Assistant 3 Non-Exempt lead trades worker to coordinate and perform maintenance across ASU Tempe campus.

The role focuses on electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance for institutional facilities, leading crews, and ensuring safe, reliable operations. Requires a high school diploma and at least 3 years in related field; location may require travel to other campuses and rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Experience leading trades work and coordinating others is a plus.
• Experience with 120/277V electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry for institutional facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance for 120/277 volts and troubleshoot with meters and detectors.
• Provide plumbing repair and maintenance for restrooms, labs, and kitchens.
• Maintain interior/exterior doors, flooring, ceilings, and drywall as part of carpentry duties.
• Use electronic work order systems (TMS) to track requests and respond to campus needs.
• Be first response to elevator trouble calls and perform basic troubleshooting.
