The University of Hawai'i, John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu (Kaka'ako campus) seeks a Fiscal Manager to lead fiscal administration, budgeting, and reporting for the campus.

The role coordinates with senior management, faculty, and central offices to ensure compliant, efficient financial operations and strategic planning. Responsibilities include overseeing procurement, generating financial analyses, ensuring policy compliance, and guiding staff through complex fiscal processes.

Qualificações

• Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, public administration, social science, arts and humanities, science, education or related field and 5 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for accounting and fiscal administration and management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
• Advanced and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of developing and emerging concepts, principles and methodologies of the assigned specialty area(s), including accounting and fund/governmental accounting systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of principles, theories, federal and state laws and systems associated with fiscal and personnel areas.
• Demonstrated ability to understand problems from a broad interactive perspective and use reasoning to discern underlying principles and issues when problem solving, and apply creative thinking to resolve problems in new and unprecedented approaches.
• Demonstrated written and verbal competence in presenting ideas, concepts and models clearly using persuasion and negotiation to build consensus and cooperation.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, Microsoft, Google applications and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) when appropriate.

Responsabilidades

• Serves as the Director of Fiscal Administration for the Kaka'ako campus providing various aspects of fiscal management advice to all levels of management, faculty and staff; evaluating and implementing changes to procedures to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective service, and resolving difficult problems in various fiscal administration areas.
• Recommends proper allocation of disposition of various financial documents and/or writes and prepares for signature documents of a financial nature that will provide plans, report status, and document problems.
• Administers purchase orders/delivery orders in an advisory capacity for complex and difficult orders, including purchase orders up to $25,000 and delivery orders in excess of $100,000.
• Administers financial services and the Kaka'ako campus fiscal transactions; reviews, analyzes, and develops short- and long-term fiscal expense reports and to actual expense worksheets, expenditure plans, and projections for submittal to university administration, the Governor's office, and the State legislature.
• Responsible for the monitoring of all procurement activities to ensure availability of funds and allowability of expenditures.
• Manages fiscal operations, interprets to administrators and employees' policies and procedures and resolves operational and administrative matters in accordance with current policies, procedures, and directives.
• Advises system offices, external vendors, school administrators, & department chairs in the resolution and completion of all fiscal related transactions.
