Job summary

DePaul University seeks a Facility Manager for the Loop Campus to supervise custodial operations, manage contracts and budgets, and lead capital projects. The role uses Planon IWMS for planning, inspections, and reporting to ensure clean, safe, and compliant facilities.

Responsibilities include supervising seven in-house custodians, coordinating with contracted staff, and managing vertical transportation, safety compliance, and environmental initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, property management or related field.
• 5+ years facilities/property management experience, preferably in higher education.
• Ability to perform detailed monthly building inspections with heavy walking.
• Excellent communication; second language preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Excel/Access/Word/MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Custodial Operations Supervision: manage in-house staff and third-party custodians; use Planon for inspections and schedules.
• Procurement, Contracts, Budget Management: bid processes, vendor selection, POs, and budget reporting.
• Project Management: oversee elevators/escalators, roofs, FF&E from bidding to closeout; coordinate post-construction services.
• Compliance and Reporting: maintain audits, PM schedules, safety training, and reports; track city fees.
