Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Temporary Campus Services Manager reporting to the Director, Building Trades, to oversee contracted services across campus, including pest control, elevator maintenance, and custodial work through external vendors with 225+ outsourced FTEs.

You will negotiate contracts, supervise exempt and union staff, manage operating budgets, and coordinate with department managers and clients to ensure quality service and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum six years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts and procedures.
• Experience managing contracts, budgets, and SLA expectations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contracted services including pest control, cleaning, and related facilities services.
• Monitor SLAs, enforce contract terms, and coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Manage staff assignments, scheduling, and workflow across campus facilities.
• Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets related to services.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and facilities staff.
