Job summary

University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a Project Facilities Manager to lead campus renovation and capital projects from scope through closeout. This six-month, full-time role collaborates with campus leaders, design professionals, contractors, and consultants to translate needs into well-executed facilities that support academics and student life.

The position requires several years of project management in higher education, with strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Lead or supervisory experience in capital construction.
• Experience in institutional/higher education settings.
• Experience with renovation or laboratory projects.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned renovation and capital improvement projects from scope through construction closeout.
• Coordinate with campus stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to advance design and construction activities.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables aligned with institutional goals.
• Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change orders with senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits to observe progress and support quality control.
• Maintain organized project documentation and provide regular status updates.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
