Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to coordinate renovation, maintenance, and minor capital projects from conception through construction and closeout. You will lead scope development, budgeting, and scheduling while guiding clients and staff with design and construction decisions.

The role requires knowledge of building and construction, strong project management, and the ability to manage contractors and ensure compliance with policies and codes.

Qualifications

• Thorough working knowledge of building and construction, design, contract administration, and CA Building Codes.
• Strong project management skills for complex renovations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to define project scope and program; manage budgeting, funding, contracting, and closeout.
• Establish project plans with units and offices to secure funding and alignment.
• Hire architectural/engineering firms, develop definitions, and manage design criteria.
• Coordinate construction activities, schedule, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Ensure plans meet program requirements and project is closed out with manuals and drawings.
