Job summary

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications for a full-time, six-month Project Facilities Manager within UMES-Physical Plant/Operations. The role leads campus renovation and capital improvement projects from planning through closeout, working with campus leaders, design professionals, contractors, and consultants.

Reporting to the Director, it provides meaningful project ownership and hands-on involvement in the design and construction process in a higher education environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; five years of progressively responsible experience in project management and complexity.
• Master’s degree preferred; construction management or related field is a plus.
• Experience in institutional or higher education settings and with renovation or laboratory projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage renovation and capital improvement projects from scope development through construction closeout.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to advance design and construction activities.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
• Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change orders with senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits and maintain organized project documentation.
