Job summary

The University of Utah invites applications for the Facilities & Operations Director in the School of Business. This role leads all School of Business buildings and supporting operations, directs facilities teams, and partners with university resources to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient services.

You will oversee space planning, maintenance, safety, and emergency readiness, manage budgets, and drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience.
• Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
• Experience leading facilities operations, safety, security, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with University resources to maintain look and feel and architectural intent of buildings.
• Direct space utilization to meet changing School needs and improve utilization rates.
• Ensure building systems operate safely and efficiently, coordinating internal and external resources.
• Review upgrades to building systems to keep up with technology and classroom needs.
• Direct and verify that tasks are delivered efficiently, with empowered staff.
• Maintain safety and security protocols and coordinate with emergency services.
• Respond 24/7 to building and school emergencies as required.
• Lead development and implementation of facilities objectives aligned with University goals.
• Forecast and manage staffing, capital assets, and operating budgets for facilities.
• Oversee staff recruitment, retention, and development.
