The University of New England is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead day-to-day operations for the Portland Campus, overseeing 600,000 sq ft across 30 buildings including academic, administrative, laboratory, clinical, medical, and support facilities.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management, you will translate priorities into work plans, staffing, service standards, schedules, and vendor coordination, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient facilities.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least six years of progressively responsible facilities/operations management experience, with 3+ years in supervisory roles.
  • Experience leading skilled trades, grounds, contractors, or multidisciplinary teams in a complex building environment.
  • Experience managing operating and project budgets, vendor contracts, procurement, and cost-control activities.
  • Broad knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, asset management, and safety/compliance.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems to manage work and assets.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations for the Portland Campus, including maintenance, grounds, snow/ice response, fleet, and campus turnover.
  • Supervise approximately 10 Facilities Management staff and coordinate with temporary staff and contractors.
  • Plan preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, staffing, on-call coverage, and seasonal operations.
  • Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
  • Manage budgets and forecast expenses exceeding 2.1M annually and monitor costs.
  • Coordinate facilities projects from planning through contractor coordination and closeout.
  • Manage vendor/contractor relationships, scopes of work, safety, schedules, and invoicing.
  • Identify deferred maintenance and capital renewal needs for planning and investment decisions.
  • Promote safety, customer service, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
