Job summary

The State of Georgia's West Georgia Technical College is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled work maintaining facilities and grounds on the LaGrange campus.

Responsibilities include repairing equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, grounds upkeep, fire alarms and security systems, carpentry, and emergency responses. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year in a skilled trade are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance.
• Preferred: 2 years in large-scale maintenance or 5 years in a skilled trade to acquire necessary knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs college equipment, vehicles, and grounds using various tools, materials, and equipment while keeping records and work orders.
• Installs, maintains or repairs electrical and plumbing systems.
• Performs grounds maintenance including landscaping, applying herbicides and pesticides, and maintaining parking lots.
• Maintains fire alarms, sprinkler, and security systems.
• Assists with carpentry and renovation projects.
• Responds to emergency requests for repairs.
