Job summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic to support preventative maintenance across campus facilities, buildings, grounds, and infrastructure. You will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to keep systems safe and functional, working both independently and as part of a skilled team.

The position offers an evening/night shift differential of 10% for hours between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 3 years journeyman level experience in building maintenance, electrical repair, plumbing repair, carpentry, and/or trades.
• Substitution allowed: additional education may count toward experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and routine maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related systems.
• Coordinates with supervisors to schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains building plumbing systems.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains building electrical systems.
• Performs carpentry tasks such as door and window repair and furniture repair.
• Maintains painting and surface care to extend service life.
• Assists in furniture removal, installation, relocation and setup.
