Job summary

Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support seven campuses under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. This role performs basic maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing and other building systems, along with carpentry, painting and general repair tasks.

Key duties include responding to work orders, plumbing and electrical repairs, painting, drywall and door/lock maintenance, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of building maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a background investigation including motor vehicle record and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and completes work orders promptly.
• Performs basic plumbing maintenance including repairing faucets, caulking fixtures, and repairing/installing fixtures.
• Performs electrical repairs including replacing light fixtures, bulbs, receptacles and switches.
• Prepares, primes and paints interior and exterior building surfaces.
• Installs and repairs drywall, glass, handrails, blinds, ceiling tiles, carpet/floor tiles, baseboard molding.
• Maintains and repairs doors, locks and closers, equipment as needed.
