Job summary

Kansas City Kansas Community College is hiring Maintenance Staff responsible for all campus facilities and assisting in maintenance and remodels. This full-time position involves minor repairs, electronic recordkeeping for maintenance tasks, and ensuring the readiness of residence halls.

Applicants should have at least two years of building maintenance experience, along with a high school diploma or GED. Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday, with flexibility for operational needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in building maintenance or construction field.
• Two years of experience with sheetrock, painting, and interior wall construction.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and repair of minor lighting/electrical problems.
• Responsible for 'make ready' of residence halls each semester.
• Perform electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance.
• Prepare surfaces to be painted.
• Repair and paint damaged drywall.
• Demolition and erecting of walls.
• Hang bulletin boards and shelving.
• Moving furniture and preparation of all KCKCC facilities.
• Operate machinery and equipment.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
