Job summary

The City University of New York seeks an Administrative Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for Kingsborough Community College. The role oversees campus facilities, directs maintenance and repairs, and implements sustainability and energy-saving initiatives to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Superintendent, responsibilities include budgeting, supervising staff, coordinating with outside vendors, and guiding alterations to buildings and grounds.

Qualifications

• A Baccalaureate degree in a related field of study from an accredited college and four years of related experience, two years of which are progressive managerial/administrative.
• Valid NYS registration as architect with 3 years of related experience, including 1 year managerial/administrative.
• Valid NYS professional engineer license with 3 years of related experience, including 1 year managerial/administrative.
• NYC High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineers license with 6 years related experience, including 4 years managerial/administrative.
• HS diploma/GED with 8 years related experience, including 4 years managerial/administrative.

Responsibilities

• Oversees repair, maintenance, and improvements to campus buildings and grounds.
• Directs staff in operation of plant and grounds, and ensures safety procedures.
• Prepares bid specifications and approves payments for contractor work.
• Develops preventive maintenance plans and energy-saving measures.
